Lady Luck Not Smiling On Me.........
Recently, one my my colleague came up to me and for no apparent reason, told me that marriage life is so wonderful. I should also get married soon. I was rather pissed and being a straightforward person, i replied him immediately that it's time he come back to reality ! He just smile and keep quiet. What the hell !! I didn't ask for it and neither am i interested to know about his marriage life. Anyway, i'm not close to this colleague of mine and his reputation isn't that good also. Seems like he is still in his dreamland since his marriage some time ago.

About two weeks ago, i was involved in a 'hit & run' incident. My car's front number plate was slightly bent with the frame broken. I wasn't aware until my colleague informed me. I presumed it happened at my HDB carpark and the idiotic driver was reversing his car. The driver concerned didn't leave down any note to claim responsibility. Guess i just have to blame my luck. Luckily, the damage is just on the number plate and not the car paintwork.
I got the damage repaired and being a typical Chinese, i bought 4D on my car number. The weekend came and my number didn't came out. Well, since i don't have the luck and not being the superstitious type of person, i didn't carry on buying the number. Sadly, it happened ! On 02 November (Sun), my car number came out in the starter.
I cursed myself. I should have being more superstitious and carrying buying the number for at least another two weeks or more....damn ! If not, i would have been few hundred or thousand richer. Since i started driving two years ago, this is the first time my car number came out.....*@&#^^*@#$*(#
Coincident ? Maybe....but i'm definitely going to be more superstitious from now onwards ! I want my $$$$ !!!

Sheng Kee Chicken Rice
It's finally over ! 4 weddings in 2 months. I attended 3, shake many hands of known and unknown. I met a lot of old friends and colleagues, some whom i can't even recall the names.....hahaha. Guess this happen to everyone else right ? Actually, i was getting quite bored. All the weddings are similar with the same procedure. Why isn't anyone out there who dare to be a bit more innovative and do a different wedding dinner ? My total damage ? $320 'summons' paid + $30 parking fee. I hope that's all for the time being until next year.

This is the chicken rice stall which was featured in the tv program 'Buzzing Cashiers 2 aka 抢摊大行动 2'. This is also one of the few stalls which managed to win the medal and more than 8 chefs signature in the last episode. It's located at Bedok Reservoir Road.
Since the review is so good, i decided to try it out together with my mum. We reach there during lunch time. Although the hype has died down, there is still a short queue in front of the stall. There was about 6 person in front of me and a few more behind. I waited for about 10mins before i placed my order. One thing which puzzled me is that although the coffeeshop is located within the neighbourhood with a school situated directly opposite, there isn't much human traffic. The coffeeshop is spacious, airy and clean. The food variety is limited though. Maybe that is where the problem lies. Afterall, it's quite a small coffeeshop.
Back to the chicken rice. I tried both the white and roast chicken and the roast meat. Here is my review:
Food - the chicken meat, regardless of white or roast, is chewy and taste good. It's not overcooked. The roast meat is tender and chewy, not too oily and the size is just right. My only complaint is the rice. It smells nice with a ginger aroma. However, it lack of the 'chicken rice' taste.
Price - $11.40 for one plate of white and roast chicken meat, roast meat and rice for 2 persons. I think it's quite cheap.
Return To Eat - Yes if i'm staying nearby or few blocks away, or if someone ask me along.

The Stupid Telco Battle
The result of the stupid broadcast battle is out and my fear has become a reality. Singtel won the broadcasting rights. Not only has Singtel won the right to broadcast the BPL, it has also the right to telecast FA cup and other sports but most importantly, the Formula One.
Competition is suppose to regulate the market and prevent monopolization. Consumers are the one who will benefit. However, in this case, it's the opposite. Starhub customers like me, are left stranded. Those who had just sign a new contract will be cursing and swearing. Those without can't really terminate the service as well because there are other channels which they enjoy and they have their family members to take into consideration as well. But what is starhub sports channel without BPL and Formula One ? Fans of these two sports will understand what i'm saying. In the end, they have to sign up for additional mio tv package just to watch the two sports. Consumers are the one who will have to bear the extra cost !
When i saw the news, it affected my mood to a certain extent. In fact, i was quite pissed off. What is the relevant authority, which i believe is MDA, doing all this while ? Allow the telcos to play their monopoly game at consumers expense ? Damn.......All this talk about providing the best service at the lowest cost is just loads & loads of bullshit !!!

The Battle For Broadcasting Rights
Good news ! Our Miss World Singapore 2009, Miss Ris Low has decided to 'gracefully' give up her crown and title. Even the sponsors welcome her decision. At least she still has some common sense left. She should have expected this outcome even before she took part. I share a joke which i heard on the radio.....

In the end, whichever telco won, the other will suffer and the worst hit will definitely be the viewers. Why must the telcos try to monopolize the market ? Why can't they work out something which benefit both sides and the viewers ?
Don't expect me to sign up for Singtel MIO tv just for the BPL and still keeping on to my Starhub SCV. I'm not quite ready to give up starhub as well. It's a dilemma. I'm keeping my fingers crossed tightly, hoping for the best outcome from this broadcast battle. Idiotic telcos......&^%&!@#&!
